The Story of Attorney/Founder Dar’shun Kendrick
Dar’shun N. Kendrick was born in Atlanta, Georgia to 2 parents that were Georgia entrepreneurs and raised in South DeKalb, Georgia. While growing up in an entrepreneurial household, she witnessed first hand the lack of access to a passionate and effective business attorney that focused on growing her parents’ small businesses. So Dar’shun decided to attend law school and advocate solely for small business owners and provide them with the education and resources to help their business thrive and grow.
After law school and passing the Georgia bar, she was employed as one of 2 litigators at a law firm in downtown Atlanta, Georgia serving as counsel for large corporations like American Express, the City of Atlanta, Dell, Avis Rent-A-Car Systems, Clarke Atlanta and other large entities. During this time, she learned how CONTENTIOUS, EXPENSIVE and TIME CONSUMING litigation was to large companies and it was multiplied several times for small companies. She then decided to focus on keeping small businesses out of Court all together and to sharpen her business skills by pursuing and obtaining a Masters in Business Administration so she could be more useful to small businesses.
Every action that Dar’shun takes on behalf of her clients is towards the mission of keeping Georgia small businesses “IN business and OUT of Court” and running their business as opposed to defending it. We take an overall, strategic approach to legal services to make sure business owners have the knowledge and resources they need to thrive. At her law firm, we are a VITAMIN (preventing issues) as opposed to a PILL (solving issues). We want to grow with your business and see our relationship as a partnership of trust, understanding and hard work.
Dar’shun is admitted to practice law in the state and superior courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Middle District of Georgia. She is a Member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the State Bar, the Business Law Committee of the YLD of the State Bar, and the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce. She is also a founding Board Member/attorney for the Stonecrest Mall Business Alliance, Inc. She received the “30 under 30 Awards” in the spring of 2011 and was a finalist for the “Under 30” Awards in Atlanta by Under30FTV Magazine.
Dar’shun was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in November of 2010 to represent over 50,000 residents in East DeKalb and Rockdale counties in the Georgia General Assembly. She now represents over 54,000 Georgians from DeKalb and Gwinnett counties and is one of the youngest legislators under the Gold Dome.
